She slowly and hesitantly turned her head , dreading  the moment she was to lay eyes on the creature lurking in her home. Too frightened to move she just stood there, like a tree stuck by the roots . It started to move closer drawing in its prey. I was its prey,

"Move Lavinia!" I screamed in pure terror.

The man got closer I could feel his deep breaths on the back of my neck making it harder to move. Helen and Francine were right I'm next, the Lonely one is in my house and I am next. The man reached for the light switch and flipped it on. I finally got the nerve to turn around, my eyes still adjusting to the light. It was him, I could see through the darkness in his face, a familiar face.

        "Who are you?" I asked

"You should know, Francine." he said

“How do you know my name?”

I looked deeper into his eyes trying to find the familiarities I saw in his face. He turned and looked at me,  I could see a scar running from his eye and uncovering itself all the way to his jaw. That scar brought back childhood memories; the ones I’ve  been trying to get rid of all these years. Now all of them flooding back into my mind like it was yesterday. All the drunk nights, the beating, the  suffering its all coming back to the last place I want it. How did I not know the filth standing in my house; the disgust lingering on his face. I know exactly who this is, and I know exactly why he’s here.

“Get out of my house you don’t belong here! You don’t belong anywhere after what you put me through. Go away...Dad, you don’t belong here” I whispered.

“You led me here, you knew I was coming yet you still let it happen.”  he said as his words pounded into my mind repeating themselves.

He’s right I let this happen. I glanced at the phone hanging on the wall like it was speaking to me. Wondering in my mind if I had enough courage to take the chance of grabbing it. I took a step towards the phone,  and the next thing I know I was on the ground looking up at the ceiling. Not knowing what to do or think I just sat there like a rock. Lying there on the ground I could see his face staring down at me as if he was looking into my soul.

“Dad! Stop! How could you do this to me after what you put me through?”

“Because I am  the Lonely one.” He whispered as I fell into a deep sleep.
